 FAQs

  • Therapy can support a wide range of challenges including anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, trauma, low self-esteem, and life transitions. You don’t need to be in crisis to benefit; many clients come simply to understand themselves better or make meaningful changes in their lives.

  • Each session is a confidential space to explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences at your own pace. Together, we’ll work to understand patterns, identify what’s holding you back, and develop healthier ways of coping and relating to others.

  • That depends on your goals and needs. Some people find short-term therapy (8–12 sessions) helpful for a specific issue, while others prefer longer-term work to explore deeper patterns. We’ll discuss what feels right for you in our initial sessions.

  • Yes — sessions can take place either in person or online via Zoom. Online therapy can be especially convenient if you have a busy schedule, mobility challenges, or prefer to work from the comfort of your own space.

  • Sessions typically last 50 minutes, held weekly at the same time each week. Consistency helps maintain momentum and build trust in the process.

  • Each session offers a confidential and supportive space to explore whatever feels important to you. You can expect to be listened to without judgment, and to work collaboratively at your own pace. Sessions usually begin by discussing what has brought you to therapy and what you’d like to focus on.

Over time, therapy can help you develop greater understanding of your thoughts, feelings, and patterns, and find new ways of relating to yourself and others. There’s no “right” way to be in therapy — it’s a space to be curious, honest, and gently supported as you make sense of things and move toward change.

  • Yes — confidentiality is a cornerstone of therapy. What you share remains private, except in rare cases where there’s a legal or ethical duty to protect your safety or that of others. We’ll discuss confidentiality in full during your first session.

  • That’s completely normal. Many people feel anxious before their first session. Therapy is a collaborative process — there’s no right or wrong way to begin. My role is to help you feel safe and supported as we explore things together.

  • You can start by booking a free ~30 minute initial consultation. This is a chance for us to discuss what brings you to therapy, what you’d like to get out of it, and whether we feel comfortable working together.
