Therapy for if you’ve been holding it all together for everyone else, and for couples who want to find their way back to each other. Nantwich & online.
Therapy for when you are quietly burning out
You're the one people lean on. You hold things together at work, at home, in your friendships — and you've done it for so long you're not sure who you are underneath it. The anxiety, the irritability, the not-sleeping, the low hum of overwhelm: it's starting to tell you something needs to change.
Here's the quiet worry that keeps people like you from booking: that if you let go of holding it all together, even for an hour, it'll all fall apart — or that you'll get here and find there's nothing really wrong enough to justify taking up the space. You don't have to be in crisis to come. Most of my clients aren't.
Therapy gives you an hour a week that's just yours, where nobody needs anything from you. We go gently into what's underneath the overwhelm, look at the patterns that have been running on autopilot since childhood, and start finding your way back to a version of you that feels more like home.
Couples therapy for long-term relationships that have lost their way
By the time most couples reach me, they're living more like flatmates than partners. The spark feels gone. You can't have the same conversation without it becoming the same argument. Maybe children, work and life have crowded the relationship out — or maybe there's been an affair, and you're trying to work out whether, and how, to rebuild.
I work with couples using Imago Relationship Therapy, an approach built for exactly this. It helps you understand the patterns underneath the conflict, hear each other properly again, and get back in touch with what brought you together in the first place — the warmth, the fun, the ease.
About
Hello!
Hi, I'm Janine.
I'm an advanced clinical trainee psychotherapist (UKCP) working with individuals and couples in Nantwich and online across the UK.
My approach is warm, human and down to earth. I'll offer you a hot drink, a blanket if you want one, and move at your pace. I'm deeply invested in the change you want: I'll share in the weight of what you're carrying, properly celebrate your wins rather than nodding politely past them, and stay curious about the child you once were, sitting inside the adult across from me. I'll also challenge you, kindly, when I think it's in your interest.
I'm especially passionate about working with couples — helping you navigate relationship difficulties and reconnect with why you came together. With individuals I work integratively using Transactional Analysis; with couples, Imago Relationship Therapy.

Let’s talk.
You don’t need to have a neat explanation for why you’re here.
Maybe anxiety is taking up too much space. You feel flat, overwhelmed, hard on yourself, or like you’ve lost touch with who you are beneath everything you hold together.
Or perhaps, as a couple, you’ve become more like flatmates than partners, keep having the same argument in different forms, need support recovering from a hurt or a betrayal or you and your partner have somehow ended up further apart than either of you intended.
I offer individual and couples therapy from a warm, comfortable room in Nantwich, and online across the UK. For individual therapy, I also offer a free 15-minute introductory call if you’d like to get a feel for whether working together feels right.
If any of this feels familiar, fill in the form below or email hello@thepsychotherapyplace.co.uk. I’ll get back to you within 48 hours.
